Seasons..

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace."

I love the changing of seasons. Isn't it great how we are always ready for the season change.. right when it's around the corner? I love the warm summer weather, but by the time September comes around, I am aching for a change. I thank God that I have always been willing/able to embrace change. Change is good. Seasons will come and go.. some will be happy seasons and some will be hard seasons. But life without seasons wouldn't be a life at all.

Excuses..

So here are my excuses for not blogging.
1. Blogger's Block - sometimes its hard to think of something blog-worthy.
2. No Computer - Jonathan and I are currently sharing 1 laptop... my 2003 laptop from the college years is soo out of commission. And with Booster, the guys are in the schools all day, so the only time Jonathan can catch up on his e-mails is after work. Apparently his networking e-mails are more important than my blog :)
3. BUSY. Being a wife is awesome, but its also a lot of responsibility. I like our house to be clean and organized, I like to keep up with the laundry and dishes.. and you know that cleaning up after Murphy is a job in itself. I work 50 hours a week.. sleep for 56 hours a week.. so that really only leaves 62 hours. (Ok, well I guess that's still a lot of time.)

Doggie Play Date

Our good friends and fellow Boosterthon Fun Runners, the Littles, live just a couple blocks down in the Colony. The Little's have an adorable black golden-doodle named Ella. Tonight... we stole Ella. JK.. didn't steal her. They had small group and we thought it would be great if the doggies could play tonight and get some energy out.

And that's exactly what they did. I think Murphy will sleep for 3 days straight. Ella is smaller, faster, smarter (sorry, Murph) and just wore the mess out of poor Murphy.

We love doggie play dates. Just think how much fun it will be when we have kiddie play dates... in 15 years.

Month-i-versary.

It was one month ago from today that Jonathan and I were celebrating our marriage with Family & Friends. Many who traveled long distances to be with us.

Sweet gifts from our God poured down on us that night & throughout our Honeymoon week as we started our new lives together.

Greatest Memories:
  • Watching tears fall down Jonathan's face as my dad and I walked down the aisle (we all had bets going that he would cry) ;)
  • Taking our first communion together as husband and wife. And remembering that we can love each other because Jesus first loved us (1 John 4:19).
  • Beautiful full moon..
  • Our room at the Westin on our wedding night - lined with windows and over looking the city of Charlotte.
  • Flying together for the first time.
  • Trying to hide our excitement from the receptionist as we got upgraded to the most awesome room at our honeymoon resort.
  • Room service Nachos.. amazing.

  • Holding a baby sea turtle.

  • Sweet friends, the Normans, picking us up from the airport (thanks again!).. and having "welcome home" goodie bags for us.. coincidentally filled with stuff we had been craving all week! Coincidence? I think not.

  • Have a pizza party/gift opening party/sharing honeymoon stories & pictures with my parents and new Settle parents after we got home.
