Va - cay

Jonathan and I are in Tampa, FL for the weekend!! We are visiting my grandparents, hanging out in the sun, going to watch the Twins play the Rays (baseball - Jonathan's college roomate of 2 years pitches for the Twins), and we are going to Sea World! Woo Hoo!

Praying for..

My big brother, Daniel (aka Dan, aka STIFF), is a F-22 fighter pilot for the Air Force. Ever since we were little, he dreamed of being a pilot. And now, not only is he a pilot, but he is flying the awesomest plane there is.. the F-22 Raptor.

Daniel and his squardon left today for a 4 month deployment to a "confidential" location.

Over the next 4 months, we will praying for the Lord to keep Daniel safe and praying for his wife Erin (and golden-doodle, Barkley) who will be missing him terribly over the next few months.





Thanks, Daniel, for protecting America. See you in October!

New (slightly used) Car

So, when Jonathan and I got married, we both had gas guzzeling SUV's. I contributed a 2000 Ford Explorer and Jonathan contributed a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. In the Spring, as we were planning some road trips for the summer, we realized that we really needed a car 1.) that had better gas milage and 2.) that was more dependable. We were so very fortunate to have NO car payments at the time, so it was a hard a decision to make.

Well..... then we came across this :





And thought.. "wow, this look like it gets great gas milage.. and looks very dependable". AND it was right in our price range :)







The leather seats, sunroof, and seat warmers were just an added bonus!








Needless to say, we are really enjoying our new (slightly used) car!! This is a picture of us on the way to VA Beach to spend Mother's Day weekend with my family.




The Jeep Cherokee will be missed. The Explorer is now officially the Murphy-mobile.

What do I know of Holy?

I heard this song for the first time today and the lyric's are so powerful.

The song is filled with questions.. questions that remind me that it's easy to know God through his Word and stories of Jesus but occasionally we catch glimpses of the personal God who speaks directly to our hearts. These are moments when we know that our minds and hearts were made perfectly by God, but made so that we cannot comprehend all that God was, is, and is to come.

We just know by faith.. and although I don't question my faith, I think it's human for us to question who God is. My heart knows God but my uncomprehending mind asks similar questions to these below. In his faithfulness, he slowly reveals answers to our questions. Some day we will see "Holy" face to face.
